14/1/10 22:04I haven't posted here much because I never could decide what to use this one for, but due to the trolls, who struck LJ as I recall too, I will try to post here as well.
Kitchen container garden is now a rousing success. I have basil, mint, lavender, sage, parsley, marjoram, oregano, coriander and hopefully chives (they were started from seeds and so far I don't know if they are germinating or not) and a tomato plant that flung itself into my cart at the nursery and refused to get out. 3/5/09 07:56Kitchen container garden is well on it's way but I'm missing mint and chives. It is the weirdest thing - those things I would have thought were as common as dirt and yet I can't find them. I need mint for tabouleh not to mention mint tea. I even looked for seeds and didn't find them.
The block party - let me just pat myself on the back again for choosing this place. We have - just like I wanted - all ages, single, married, little kids, retired, different races and religions. And every single one of them brought bad-for-my-diet food to the get together! Yay!
And - drum roll please! - I don't have to go back to work for 10 days!!!!

1/5/09 19:11Today I only worked a partial day (yes, I have had only one full day off in two weeks) and ordered books like a mad thing. A lot of bestselling authors will have their books out in June and we are fast approaching the cut off date for ordering this year. It doesn't help that I will be gone to my daughter's wedding for a big chunk of that time. I'll work tomorrow too and see if I can't order a bunch of audiobooks and playaways and more books. I have the materials organized so that if someone wants to weed for me, they can. I will fall over in a dead faint if that happens!
I helped several men in working on their genealogy and the assistant I'm supposed to be training got hooked on trying to trace her ancestry too. Always nice to make a convert. Plus someone came in with must be 50 African American funeral programs for our collection. Yay. Very productive day.
